hi ruqaiya, my baby sleeps for 4 hours at a stretch now but rest of times wen he wakes up wants feeding only, you had suggested to pat n Humm,but it's not working

u can breastfeed as long as u want . I am telling the baby in night doesnt need the milk they can drink during day time .so u can fed during daytime.at night he is only taking sips becoz he is not hungry but he wants to suck a little to fall asleep. here is where the mistake is .dont think he is hungry he wants to sleep need a little sucking to go back to bed. so at night when.he wakes up try to use other ways to get him back to sleep rather than feeding .it will take time but he can sleep more than.8 hrs at his <u>age</u>

as he just takes few sips n falls asleep

is it Because he is on exclusive breast feed and is thirsty, should i start <u>weaning</u>

Dear Leena, whenever your baby wakes up at night I want you to not feed him try to soothe his crying by gently humming to him ,slightly patting ,or keeping ur hand on his chest till he stops crying n falls asleep again .he doesnt need milk he can sleep long hrs.remove the habit.of needing milk to fall asleep.let me know how this <u>goes</u>
