Please avoide plastic teether, u can use only homemade teether,u can give a piece of lightly chilled carrot ,a piece of soft coconut stick, or a piece of chilled cucumber....but main thing is that is you have to changed it quickly...

I give my baby pieces of carrot and cucumber. He loves it. I replace it after a few mins when it gets soft.

It's not like teether needs to be given only.. you can avoid if you want but babies tend to chew on toys and clothes and every other thing, in that case a sterilized teether is better I think...
