Who needs an alarm clock?
In a normal world, on an ordinary,  I would be visiting some magical lands, that my dream world offers to me.  But in the world of motherhood, my day begins with excited squeals. Baby's up!  For a not-so-morning person, me,  4:30am ALWAYS makes me groan. And every day, while completing my morning motherhood rituals of changing, feeding, burping the baby,  I'd pray that he'd sleep soon after. And everyday my prayers go unanswered. Because as soon as I put the baby back, he starts moving his legs,  nineteen to a dozen,  because in baby head,  "Mumma,  it's PLAY time!! "

It is normally always 5:20 am by this time, I do a quick mental calculation, which would still allow me an hour and a half worth of sleep,  IF, the baby were to sleep now.  You see,  that's just how most of your sleep works in early days of motherhood, in your head.

Everyday I refrain myself from playing with the baby at this obscene hour, hello!  5:30 am is no time to be up and about.  I draw the curtains, I tell myself not to give in to his excitedness (is that a word?) but I succumb to his heart melting laughter. And voila, "yeay!  it's playtime".

On a regular day, my knight in a shining armour (my husband) would step in by about 7 which gives me my golden hour to catch a few winks but today the knight is not so knightly and has to travel for work. Boohoo!

Dear rider daddy,  works with royal Enfield, rides and communities team and is off to an event somewhere in the Himalayas for three days which means solo night and day duties for me. We wish dad a safe ride and plonk on the bed,  still hoping that baby would sleep but his squeals are slowing turning to distressed whimpers. That's my cue, feeding time!
