Why newborns sleep a lot?? Many of us think about this.
yes they too went through a lot of a stress, pushes and pulls in the labouring and birthing process along with you..so they must be as tired as you even more than you as they leave their environment and come into an other environment. It's like when our place gets change we also don't feel comfortable.
A new born baby must be nursed every 2 hrs without any failure until the newborn gains its original weight. As newborn looses their weight and is expected to regain its birth weight by the completing of two weeks.

once the baby regains birth weight it can be nurse on demand.
Newborns nurse 24 × 7. They eat, pee, poop, fart, yawn, sleep and repeat. That's all they do and they live at the breast for comfort, warmth, security and hunger. That is why newborn wants to stay latch for hours together, it is very natural for them.
You can nurse in a lying down position and do not hesitate to take help with the burping abd diaper change part as you also have gone through lot of pain and stress and your body too wants rest. #nursingnewborns
