Spice in your food won't affect the taste of the milk for the baby. Only the mother may or may not have to deal with it's after effects like acidity etc. In the initial days, you won't have enough energy left after feeding baby 24x7, so spicy food is just avoided to make things easier for you. But if you're getting bored of bland food, treat yourself to single spice ingredient food if you want. Watch for any effects on baby & continue adding more spices one at a time to see if baby is happy with what you eat as well. If baby becomes colicky, remember what you ate for the last 24 hours & eliminate whichever foods may have been risky. Start eliminating with foods that are not much beneficial from a nutritional perspective.
