Y'day Rebecca posted this quote. Got me thinking we really sometimes neglect ourselves, especially after baby comes. So I wanted us all to list the things we have done while expecting, while being a new mom to help look after ourselves.
Just list down everything you can think of. This compilation will become a super helpful thread for other expecting and new moms who are going through this stage now...
My list:
While expecting: 1) I stayed at my parent's place as my husband was posted abroad. That way I was looked after well.
2) We hired extra help - a cook who could make all kinds of healthy snacks
3) I started getting a maalish done for my back & limbs - very relaxing
4) I kept freelancing from home - kept me busy and distracted in a very productive way
5) I kept reading helpful articles from babycenter (remember i was pregnant 12 years ago!)
6) I used to walk with my friend, or my dad, or by myself every single day.
AS A NEW MOM: 1) I would try and rest when baby was sleeping
2) Once baby was 4 months old and i moved to goa, my hubby would take her out every evening while i would have a long hot bath.
3) Walk every day in the evening with music plugged into my ears - this happened at a later stage for me - wish i started earlier - it really kept me sane...
4) Eat well - i tried to eat a well balanced diet at all times. Still do :)
5) Speak to your close friends every day who keep you happy and understand your problems. Still do :)

It's vry imp to care and love ur self 1st.<br>
During my initial pregnancy I was at inlaws place n did household chores normally..i was blessed with no morning sickness,no vomiting inshort nothing n had a very smooth pregnancy with easy normal delivery,after few months of pregnancy went to mom's place n had ample of rest n ate everything..went out with frndz...took care of myself excluding parlours(never felt); <br>
after delivery too I enjoyed; my those days..for me its always Self respect n self love first..n make sure baby's responsibility is equally shared between me n hubby..I work n handle home too,so do my hubby!

I have been telling this to all new moms , my friends , everyone on the app . You need to stay happy and first need to take care of yourself .<br>
While i was pregnant initial 3 months was a nightmare at in laws .; <br>
I somehow survived.;; Rest 4 months i was in Kashmir and that's when i realised i need to do something for myself as husband was on duty most of the time .; I used to eat healthy . An initial weight loss of 12 kg , haemoglobin at 6.8 but i never gave up . Last 2 months of pregnancy I was with mom <br>
•Ate healthy <br>
• I always believed in keeping myself fit and used to workout; , go for walk . ● danced till 7 months <br>
●wore Saree because I wanted to <br>
● cooked full meals because that's my passion •●○○ was really nervous and scared; in the last phase of pregnancy and i thought i will lose my calm but by grace of almighty everything went as i thought of . I wished for a girl and i was granted Mannat .<br>
After BABY was born 😍😍😍<br>
People say it gets difficult as you have a baby and it consumes all your time . You are a mother first and all that jazz But i have the Exact opposite experience .<br>
Mannat has given me all the strength in world ● 5 months without husband; ofcourse my mom is there to back me up . But i have managed it alone when my nani was no more and at the same time dad had a cardiac arrest . ● I am learning professional fondant and royal icing cakes <br>
● by end of June I will get my certificate of professional makeup artist . ( something i wanted to learn from so long ) ● soon my firm will be registered and i will start selling online <br>
● kiwi is 9 months 21 days and i have not missed my single month pampering session <br>
● got hair highlights done <br>
● I make sure i catchup with my friends and try to have a heart to heart convo with atleast 1 friend in a week ● I am keeping myself fit , eating healthy <br>
Go out all decked up as i used to do before pregnancy ● went on vacation twice <br>
Once to gulmarg <br>
Second was Goa and kerala <br>
Third is in the pipeline Mannat has come as a blessing for me . I love myself and i am proud of me . Each day i thank god; for giving me strength, everyday I count my blessings for almighty has blessed me to be a A PROUD <u>MOTHER</u>
