Worried your toddler isn’t developing properly??? As a first time parent we constantly keep worrying about their weight, height, development milestones. It’s like we are obsessed with all this, that’s the only thing on mind.We are constantly comparing them with other kids on the block.; Always remember your child like every child is one of a kind. That’s why comparing your toddler with other toddler the same age isn’t really very helpful.;
As a parent you know your child best,Your child has his own process and timeline. That means walking, talking,etc are all developed at a time that is appropriate for your child. If you are worried always check with the pediatrician about what might be helpful for your child. Have milestone checklist for every month but don’t expect them to tick all the boxes. They will be practicing what’s more important for them at the time. So give them time and space to learn those skills and practice them. Remember as long as your toddler is reaching majority of milestones on time his/her development is on target. Some tips to not worry so much:- Help your child practice new milestones. Buy new shoes for them to get them excited about walking, talk to them every day tell stories for them to pick up language. Don’t magnify the delays and be worried instead celebrate what your child can do. Trust your instincts and talk to your pediatrician about any doubts you have.Chatting with the doctor can help put things in perspective and take some of the pressure off. Be happy with your child’s development taking its course, let your toddler do the developing and;;leave the screening to the doctor.
