Y'day I was on a call when the cook was to come so I made a list of things to do for her (today too since our cook has no fixed time!)
She put it back on the fridge afterwards and as soon as #thetenyearold came home she saw it and reacted, "u're travelling mom?"
Made me realise that despite mentally preparing her for every trip I have made since she was 5 yrs old (all trips would be planned in advance), she still thinks I will go off suddenly and feels sad when I travel without her...
And then I felt a pang of guilt. The typical mom guilt which none of us should feel! It's a different thing that her face lit up like a christmas tree on steroids and she said the longest phewwwwwww when I told her I'm not going anywhere!
Made me realise our kids are just kids, no matter how big they become. And they will always need us.
Do you ever go through mom-guilt, ever so fleetingly? If so, what's the usual trigger? And how does it go away?
Much love to all you moms for being so awesome! Stay guilt-free!
