Your PELVIC FLOOR is a group of muscles (3 layers) that run from the pubic bone ( in front) to the tail bone ( sitz bone). The pelvic floor is a highly vascular ( a large blood supply) as well as highly innervate (a lot of nerves),part of the body. The nerves , muscles & connective tissue work to keep you CONTINENT , to provide support to the internal organs( bladder, uterus, rectum) , to stabilize the spine and pelvis & to contribute to your sexual satisfaction.

Because it is not visible the pelvic floor is rarely thought of until there is a problem & then it becomes the only thing you think about because it plays such a central role in so much of what u do . Problems will often show up during #pregancy or after #childbirth . PROBLEMS such as #incontinence #pelvicpain #organprolapse #sexualchallenges #backpain #hippain .

These problems also known as PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION can develop from a variety of reasons such as overuse( muscles that dont relax and are tight and weak as a result), underuse( muscle that lack tone and are weak), from injury ( perineal injury from birth, sports, accidents, surgeries) or from poor posture and alignment.
THE PELVIC FLOOR IS THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR CORE & DESERVES ALOT MORE ATTENTION THAN IT GETS.
