u should not eat rice as it lessens the milk n ur baby will not get enough milk , doctors will then suggest u for formula milk. ur best n healthy food for both mother n baby is chapati veggies like turai, methi, palak, dudhi  , tindi , brinjal.  u  should eat lots of ghee also.

You need to eat a healthy balanced diet meghana. Rice or chapati will not reduce milk. The doctors advice for a reason. I had rice for lunch and dinner and 2 eggs every single day from the first day of my delivery and I had a c section  Imagine the amount of damage you are doing to your body by depriving it of vital nutrients. It is the lack of information and fear that is the reason behind this. I can understand it is hard to deal with pressure from elders when it comes to pregnancy. Trust me I have had my share of it too. But you need to be firm about it. Your doctor has already told you what to have. Please follow it. Also dont load up on ghee just because elders say it is good for the baby. 1 spoon in every meal is more than sufficient. Have milk, dry fruits, sports, coconut water, fruits and vegetables. Keep yourself hydrated. Go for walks. We have to take care of ourselves now. Otherwise when we are older our health will take a toll. Take care :)

Potatoes are fine as long as they are not deep fried. Eat all vegetables and fruits as well as more thicker pulses to get adequate protein intake. You must also take curds and milk to get the calcium needs taken care of.
