Harneet Khurana aditi manja Dr.Shilpitha Shanthappa pls advise. hi pooja i hope u r taking all ur supplements.

Dr. Shilpitha Shanthappa

Hello...
Inadequate nutrition and calorie intake will make you tired and weak.  This is because a breastfeeding mom produces approximately 23 to 27 ounce milk per day, which contains 330 mg of calcium per quart. So for producing milk, she needs at least 500 calories extra energy per day than usual..
A nursing mother’s diet should be a balanced one with adequate calcium. Her diet should include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, cereals, milk, dairy products, eggs, meat or bean and plenty of fluids..

hi pooja, rightly advised by  Dr. Shilpitha. Have something every 2 hours. Increase your protein intake. Have small snacks in between meals like a few dry fruits, sprouts, ragi porridge, buttermilk to keep up with your energy levels. Drink water, soups, coconut water, lemon juice. It's important to maintain the electrolyte balance in the body else it can cause dehydration in this heat. Take care :)
