How long does one feel discomfort in stitches after normal delivery?

asha chaudhry

hi sonam patel Dhara Popat Ankita Popli Roopashree Siddireddy pls advise!

Sheeba Rizvi

Hi Sumira it's upto you dear as much you take care of yourself and take rest it will be fine soon however it takes 20 days to heal it up completely. Please avoid sitting long hours sit only for feeding or having food avoid standing or walking as well more than 15 minutes else coz of pressure stitches can come out. it happened with me at my second delivery as I took it very lightly and started household chores in few days only when I realised the thread is coming out I rushed to my doc n he scolded like anything😨he told me if you won't take rest will have to stitch it again😨so take it easy take rest keep pouring warm water on the area when you go for bath...it will be alright soon☺

mine was c sec in both the kids... so no idea... but I think Sheeba Rizvi is right...

yes Sheeba Rizvi is right,I was asked to sit in a tub of warm water for 15 days for proper healing of stitches.dont be harsh with urself .get back to normal activities only after 40 days.stiches will take 15 _20 days to heal

10 days max...put cotton dipped in hot water for relief 3-4 times a day...use carefree cotton pads and betadin...tc Sumira Bhatia

yes I also go with Sheeba Rizvi it will take ten to fifteen days.. nd more than that... take plenty of rest.. keep pouring hot water on the area.. add some dettol in the hot water to avoid infections.. do it whenever u feel pain.. mostly try to sit on the stitches by bearing pain.. try to walk sometimes.. as it may need some blood circulation to heal..

Dhara Popat

mine was c section so m unaware of the same dear. tc

For me it took 1 month ..that discomfort will be there.. try not to spread legs too much. I agree with Sheeba rizvi. It takes time to slowly things to settle.
