Q:

Any one who had given BARA test for your baby resulting with mild high frequency hearing loss? Dr suggested to stimulate by talking to him and making noises so that we can overcome. anyone has similar experience and overcame? please share your experience. OR any Dr here please help.

we have been through a bara test and it did scare us, but our baby's hearing was diagnosed as being perfectly fine. i am told that hearing issues may cause speech issues as well, but if the doctor has suggestsed medicines or activities, do them regularly. don't be afraid - just proceed with whatever the doctor has said and everything will be ok.

There is no medicine for hearing loss. Depending on the severity of hearing loss and the type, a cochlear implant or hearing aid is prescribed. If there is hearing loss, your child will need speech and language therapy . You need to make him aware of the different sounds in environment however, you need audiologist 's opinion about what can be prescribed for your baby's mild hearing loss.
