My lo is on mixed feed now, more on top feed and once or twice on bf a day but since last 2 days he's not taking top feed properly and trying to bf but he's not getting satisfied as I had small nipples problem and he wasn't able to latch on. So, my milk production was decreased.Even if he breast feeds for like 20-30 minutes, still he doesn't fall asleep and keep putting his hands in his mouth. And not taking top feed at all. Don't know what to do? How to make him drink his FM?How to know whether I'm producing even BM for him or not? After he finishes bf, I squeeze and see whether milk is coming or not ,some amount comes out from it and other thing is that he's just bf from one breast as another one is almost flat. Please help!!

Try nipple puller for flat nipple problem. Then use nipple shield and make your baby to latch on. Else try to express your milk and give it in bottle. next time give the formula and check whether he's taking it or not. Before breastfeeding your baby, drink a cup of juice or even water, massage your breasts atleast few mins and latch on so that the flow will be good. The more you nurse your baby, the more milk will secrete. You can also pump after feeding. Try oatmeal, garlic, spinach, fenugreek, fennel seeds, shatavari which helps in milk secretion. I've shared the things which I know. Other people and experts can also help you with their suggestions. Don't worry.

Hi Sonika, could be that your baby is confused . nipple teat confusion happens when you go back and forth breast and bottle. I know its hard but wat u can do is decide which feeding u want . babies prefer breastmilk .But if you have tried many times breasfeeding and its still not working dont be ashamed to start formula .u can pump and offer breastmilk in bottle .
