Hi. I have cyst in my ovary. what is the resolution except surgery ?

Please visit your doctor. There can be medications prescribed which help in some cases. It would depend on how your body reacts. If your doctor has already tried the same and suggested a surgery then that will be the only option.

My gyne took CA125 test.and report is normal then she gave Depo Vera injection. Now she wants to check the size through scan.

Hi Harpreet,

please first get the scan done. do not hurry up into the surgery. PCOS is a problem which arises due to hormonal imbalances primarily due to excess of insulin. This causes overproduction/ imbalance in sex hormones which causes cyst in the ovaries.

The main focus of the treatment should be based on the food you eat and the lifestyle. This primarily determines your hormonal status and the prognosis of the disease.

All the symptoms of PCOS can be handled by diet and lifestyle in most cases. Any treatment you choose should always be complimented and followed by dietary treatment.

first thing first. please get your scan done.

Majorly you will need to eliminate sugar and refined carbohydrate from your diet. This is the major cause of hyperinsulinemia and further to PCOS.

The other components of the diet will depend on various factors. Weight gain, age, height, weight, pathological problems, physical problems, blood parameters etc.

but I don't have any diabetics.

first and foremost do you have a single large cyst? or multiple small cysts? it's important to first characterise the cyst and make a diagnosis in order to plan the treatment. some cysts are also physiological. please elaborate.

I already have done my scan
