A baby should start solids by about six months. You can try vegetables fruits cereals and pulses. At eight months giving about three solid meals is good. Breakfast of fruit and cereal followed by lunch of khicdi made with veggies moong dal and rice and an evening meal of pureed vegetables. You can add some cereals to the night meal once the baby is accustomed to eating solids.
