Q:

The grahan is coming up. Should expecting mothers go outside? What will happen if we do?

No can't go outside even in the time of Veda n grahan pregnant women can't eat or drink anything and also don't do any work during Veda n grahan time otherwise it will affect on baby

my mil told me many things not to do during grahan...don't know are these true or not...but she told me not to cut anything, not to eat, don't twist any part of ur body like ears with ur hands, no itching, don't cut ur nails etc etc..

is it so?? 🤔🤔Sheeba Vijesh Roopashree Siddireddy

my mil told me not to sleep at that time..lay down straight..dnt fold ur legs n hands..neither touch one leg with other or one hand with other..dnt twist ur fingers..keep chanting god's name..dnt eat ..dnt drink..dnt cut anything..just cover the window of ur room so that no light from outside can come to u...now i am afraid as grahan time is from 10.45 pm to 12.45 pm..it is difficult to lay down straight for 2 hrs as now a days i cant even lay down straight for 2 min..& the problem of frequent urination..it will be very difficult

sorry its 10.45 pm to 12.45 am..2 hrs time

yes Priyanka...even I can't lay down straight for more than 2 mints....it's not possible...nd frequent urination is a big problm this tym..wid me especially at night..😟😞

yes that time cutting something is strictly prohibited as I have seen the bad effect on baby from my eyes only so I believe that

each one follow according to their customs and traditions, that's my motto... maybe there is truth, maybe not... Shruti Giri ☺

anon..aap follow kriye..aap grahan ke time bhar mat niklo n grahan ko mat dekho...kabhi kabhi..hame Aisa krna padta hai sojaiye night ka time hai..

partial grahan 5:30pm kya start ho jayega tab bhi precaution leni hai kya????

grahan ka sutak 1.43 pm ko lgega..but meri mil ne sirf grahan k time precautions lene ko bola h.

here in this link some tips are given about what not to do during grahan...

pls tell kya me rakhi par out of town ja skti hu ya 1.43 ke baad niklna hi nhi

Good question.... There are lot of myths regarding eclipse. Animals and birds depends mostly on sun or moon for their daily chores. Solar and lunar eclipses..confuse these animals and birds..and sometimes...the darkness caused by eclipse will be confused and they try to return to their homes in hurry. Just to avoid this things... Elders said... better be a home. Later there was a period of time in history...wherein some ppl( false sadhus...I want to say..) try to kidnap pregnant women for sacrifice...there is a false belief that... if pregnant women is sacrificed..they will be equal to God / they will get hidden treasures...other...blah blah blah... Now times have changed. You can be however you want to. As this lunar eclipse happens.. from 9.20pm to 02.21am. You can have your dinner before and enjoy sleep. That's it. Rather than fighting with your mother or mother in law ( who is just concerned about you and baby)Go to bed early.

Any fasts, pooja, homa, Havana...any such things are not applicable to pregnant women. Stay hydrated and be happy.

Roopashree Siddireddy but my mil is saying u can't sleep..u have to awake & lay down straight..how to make her understand its very difficult to lay straight at this point of time

Oh no... you should never sleep straight.. say that your doctor have specially mentioned not to do this. And also..can say.. one famous sadhu/ astrologer have said not to..

I am a science student...but I have a balanced view on everyone and everything. I have agreed things only after knowing it's truth. I want to state an incident... when I was studying... many said..solar eclipse is dangerous and should not go out. I had periods and had my lunch outside on terrace...just to check. I was fine.  Nothing evil or bad happened to me. even when I am carrying... I was as usual. Have faith and trust in self. If you are weak... all sorts of ppl..animals..ghosts.. Everything will take advantage of you. ha ha ha ha..

thank u so much Roopashree Siddireddy....u explained very well

1.43pm ke baad nhi niklna aisa kuch bhi hai kya

Well it totally depends on your family and traditions. I am 26wk pregnant with my second baby. When I was pregnant with my first, I especially took leave to stay at home during eclipse, but my fellow job mates who were pregnant were running around freely. So I think its totally a mind set.
