Q:

Hi Friends. Am new to BabyChakra. I would like to get suggestions from you on how to arrange books for my child so he feels motivated to read and also books are easily accessible to him. can you share pics of Ur book shelves so I get some ideas ?

Hi Anon. Warm welcome. To get your child interested just make it a routine everyday to read. Give variety, visit books stores together. Im not very proud of my book shelf but we both love reading

Please mention the age of your baby. According to age..we can suggest. Always.. colorful books will attract attention. You too star reading.

Try and keep them in a place that's reachable for your baby.

As Priya mentioned, just having a fun looking bookshelf is not enough to get your child motivated to read. You need to make reading a routine and a fun experience. Use colourful books with great illustrations, make reading an interactive fun process and get excited about all things book related! Automatically then your child will also want to read and explore!

Welcome anon! You can create a routine of reading with your child everyday. You need not force the child if s/he is not interested but sit with a book everyday and let him/her see that as a routine. You can red aloud/point to a picture and ask the child what s/he thinks about it

When you go out to buy books, make sure you involve the child in choosing the books, when you are setting up a place for the books, get the child to help you with arranging..that should get the child interested

For some reason, I am unable to post a pic of my child's book basket. But here's an article of mine that might help - A Quick Guide to reading to your children

Welcome dear. Amazing suggestions moms
