hello, can someone make me understand difference between puree and mashed?

I'm giving 2 foods for my baby.

1. around 11 am : cook 1 tsp powdered rice and then mix with banana, grind it.

2. around 5pm, steam apple and blend it.

Remaining hours BM on demand.

is this the right way?

what all fruits/vegetables can be made purees? and what can be mashed? To be given for a baby who just completed 6months?

really confusing.. please advice..Thanks in advance..

purees are finely grinded in mixer ,like when u puree apple it turns in consistency which baby can without chewing swallow and eat. mashed is little thicker ,you don't need to grind it much , generally mash foods are given to make baby habit of chewing and eating that he is gona do in future .age wise consistent of food becomes thicker and from puree it turns to mash and then pure solids like our food what we eat.at this age you can give banana mash finely it does not require to be pureed evry time ,it's fine to give puree at this age (assuming your baby is six month), increase the consistency as per babys acceptance month wise.try variety in foods u give.haooy weaning

Yea aradhana S right... puree S finely mashed... not coarsed... start with purees initially ....

Puree is ttly grinded wid the help of miger/grinder weras mash is lil crushed wid d help of hand or so which is nt purely grinded but has sup wholesum part too... Hope clear

puree is just that, lumpless, creamy and almost flowing u can get this texture by using blender and mashed little thicker texture can be achieved by using fork.  U can give veggies like carrot,  beans,  potatoes,  sweet potatoes,  beetroot smooth puree.  Fruits pear or apple puree,  chickoo, banana, avocado can be mashed. Give your baby rice cerelac homemade,  ragi,  wheat... Wash,  roast it and grind it to smooth powder and store it in an air tight container.
