Most of the times people recommend me not to sleep straight. Usually I don't sleep straight but I wonder why sleeping in this position is concerning in pregnancy.

hi Pooja congrats for your pregnancy..I would love to tell you that you can sleep on your right side and left side but not on your stomach obviously and also not straight because sleeping straight will give you back pain also and will give pressure on your growing uterus and also disrupting the blood flow to baby .and sleeping on your side's will also give good blood flow to your baby n proper oxygen especially left side .you can also place pillow between your legs and under ur belly..this is what Pooja I have told me by my doctor and also I have read it..hope so it can help you, takecare and stay healthy and happy...

When you sleep on your back the blood vessel which carries blood to the uterus falls below the uterus and hence can get compressed with the weight of the baby. This may cause a restriction on the oxygen and nutrients supply. However this is more prominent in the third trimester. Also if you sleep on your back in the third trimester you may feel.more breathless. Having said that even in the third trimester if you feel comfortable then it's just fine to sleep on your back. You will automatically change position a few times in the night.

thank you both of you...I will make sure to not to do something not good for me or my baby.
