Q:

I have a 3 year old. Lately her tantrums have reached a new high. She hits back, refused to obey and is scared of nothing. As a last resort I have to raise my voice even when I know it's not right. But all attempts to expkain; distract or give a time out are failing. Don't know what to do. Because of the constant yelling she doesn't even want me around when it's fun time which makes me feel super bad but if I don't get her to eat, take a bath or sleep on time, it's a bigger issue.

Common for this age anon.... It's good that you are refraining yourself from being angry n shouting...that's the biggest deal to crack you know...you can't be normal for longer time in such situations...but you got plus point there....
Instead of shouting try to talk to her thoda pyarse... specifically when no body is around... Children often don't listen to you when somebody is there.....
I will just tell you what I do when my son does it...he is 20 month old almost but I think somewhere you will relate with it...
When he does this, I just take him inside the riom, lock it, n sit with him...he will cry, hawl for few minutes then he will calm down n come near...this is the best time to make them understand what exactly you want from them......
Try to figure why she did that...she wants something, she wants to go out or something else...ask her in lower voice... Rewarding good behavior time to time works wonder.... Praise others good behavior also....
At one point you have to figure it out n be strict...don't feel bad if you have to punish a bit but don't get too harsh...try to explain good behavior n bad behavior ..u can stick posters at home or show her some videos about behaviors....tc
