My niece doctor suggests to give her aptamil, because it is good contains of prebiotic. Anyone know about the benefits of prebiotic for new born baby?

Prebiotics in infant formula are;modeled after the oligosaccharides (carbohydrates with 3–10 simple sugars linked together) found in human milk. They are designed to stimulate the growth of lactobacillus and bifidobacteria—the main probiotics found in the intestinal tract of breastfed babies. Prebiotics help stimulate the growth of friendly bacteria found in the gut by acting as food for the bacteria. Besides promoting the healthy growth of “good bacteria,” some studies have shown that prebiotics have even more benefits. Certain prebiotics may help baby produce healthy stools, and others may even benefit the immune system. Prebiotics and probiotics may also be helpful for treating baby eczema.
Beside before introducing the formula think of the benefits of mothers milk . WHO recommends breastmilk for babies rather than formula

Hi, Prebiotics are natural fibers that help balance the gut microflora. They act as food for the healthy babcteria already present in the baby's gut and helps them grow. When the healthy bacteria grows they inhibit the growth of the bad or infection causing bacteria thus boosting the immunity of the baby. Did you know that gut is the larges immune organ of the body with about 70%-80% of immune cells located in it and it is the gut microorganisms that help regulate it. hence any substance that boosts their growth helps with the boosting of babies immunity as well.

Probiotics are live strains of healthy bacteria that are intended to have health benefits, especially for the digestive system. Prebiotics are responsible for good gut health and good immunity.
