Hi all:

All of sudden since 3 to 4 days my Lo has started to cry ...rather howl in the nights 8 onwards. till she is tired n goes to sleep. she was a colicy baby and used to cry all evening till 3.5 months. pls help.

Hi Vanita. There may be many reasons actually. My son used to get up due to bad dreams. Just ensure all the basics are done from your end like good burping, dry and warm clothes. Put your hand on her and calm baby when she wakes

hi Priya. thanks for your reply. she's crying before going to sleep. sometimes seems like tummy ache n sometimes hunger. covered all basics but jus doesn't stop howling. rushed to pead twice n he advised colicaid n then paracetamol. we r not comfy giving meds everyday. wondering how long does colic phase continues

Oh I understand. Please follow your pediatrcian. I have seen babies have had colic for many months. Each baby is different. All the best.

both my babies had mild colic. but i would give colicaid at the first sign of colic and hold the Baby close for as long as possible. I didn't think twice abt medicating becoz meds really work and end the suffering. it settled in couple of weeks.

Hi, my son had the same problem .I never had the heart to give him any meds for colic. Wht helped was applying hing on around his naval everyday.
Massage the babys stomach in clockwise direction and curl the knees towards the stomach in a gently manner like cycling.
Also try keeping , a warm towel on the babys tummy this can assist gas movement .
Try playing some light music. Pls ensure that the baby burps after every feed. Try to hold your baby as upright position as possible during feeding.I avoided all food items tht would give me gas.I even cut down my dairy intake . this really helped my son. hope this helps ur baby too. if u not happy with ur doc advice try taking her to another doc.
