Pls share ur list of things! #thetenyearold reads, makes slime, does art & craft with recyclable material from home, colours (not as much as i wud've liked) and sometimes plays board games. She still doesnt love needlwork so not pressurising.

This is apart from cycling downstairs and playing with kids downstairs. On sundays we try to walk on the beach and cook pasta together.

asha chaudhry I am trying to reduce her screen time and one day screen free.; Its; not easy when you have a cousin in the same house who is 9 and; has her own phoned from the time she was seven.; We do lots of; activities like drawing,; painting; art and craft,; cycling.; Playing with toys.; We have tea parties.; We take her out.

I let them have screen time.
My kids do everything that we did...play outdoors, watch tv, eat junk ( occasionally because they are not fond of it)...
I feel parenting in this age is over rated...parents need to chill

Mamta Washist - did u get this tag notification?

No i didnt get an alert asha chaudhry ..manually checked the list and found i was tagged

Got it Mamta Washist . No sound. And no visible notification, right?

Nisha Dayal a screen free day is such an interesting concept! I shud try that!!!

Play with his friends, swimming sometimes, cycling, his games n toys, sleep, do some study and some screen time which he shares with us.. watches TV when we watch at night that's mostly sports, news, some movie..

She spends more and more time in our garden and she loves to do that!!!! She has started watching nat geo for animals ,,, thats it no other screen time as her dad is strict no for screen time!!! She listens so many audio english rhymes , hindi rhymes and kannada too.. she loves pouring batter in cup cake moulds and loves colouring.. we have a pool too but not yet introduced to that activity.. my maid, suditi and her dad always play hide and seek!!! She enjoys playing...

Read that article too..
It's not easy to keep a child screen free in this generation, as our schools also sometimes teaches with all these technologies. And also peer pressure when dr friends keep talking bout their gadgets and all doesn't help either.
U hv to be strong to say no to ur kid and also understanding his/her situation

Anay loves running...so every day 1-2 hours in the morning and evening also are reserved for ground play...1 hour after breakfast and 1 hour after lunch we play with the other children..rest of the day he sleeps for a while, eating, we do lots of indoor DIYs...so there is actually no time for screen....I was thinking of introducing but now he won't even stay there for 5 minutes....

Riaan is most of the time in his lil swing...which is in our sitout... he spents time singin an watchin a birds nest in our garden...

In my current situation screen time is the only support I have. So I will reap the advantage of it for a few more months and then try to change.

asha chaudhry I don't do anything dear but I don't know why my twins 3 years still don't like TV, laptop, ipads or mobiles..never ever during our travel or at home they ask for this gadgets...
Situation is so worse that they don't even like talking to grandparents or relatives on phones...
Very rarely like holi or Diwali they'll take mobile just to call..
No YouTube no apps from playstore..

Activity with paper n glue, play time in the park, hand writing competition, jump 50 times etc.

Dear Asha, Looks like you have a lot of input here so I will not repeat ideas, but my main thing is do anything you want with your child, but keep screen time down to zero if possible. Your child will learn to use technology anyway, but doing things like playing board games, reading and just having fun will not happen unless you encourage it. Hope this helps!
