My 2 month old baby boy's skin seems to be sooo dry only on particular parts of body like stomach and both knees. like patches. what could be the reason? he's on teddyy bar soap and Cetaphil body lotion. during morning and before sleep I also apply Maxcare coconut oil on those areas, but still it's dry and not curing. shall I replace soap with besan flavour or green gram flavour ?? remedies/suggestions pls!!

Same thing was thr with my 3 months lo too.. pediatrician said it's going to get btr on its own, just continue massage. I am also using coconut oil n olive oil for her, along with cetaphil lotion, and it's gone better now..

gram flour increases dryness. just apply oil and do not use soap too once in a while. just bath with hot water and pat dry only. do not wipe dry on baby's skin.

hi my baby had the same thing. didn't apply anything. I used to massage her with mustard oil. use Johnson's baby lotion and powder. don't worry it will go on its own.

Dr. Riddhi Kataria

Soaps make skin dry. So make sure u use only warm water for bath, pat dry the body, use soft towel for wiping the baby, apply oil while sleeping and after bath. Apply oil every 3 hours if u feel the dryness is too much.
Quick tip - dryness can be a sign of dehydration. So make sure ur baby is being fed well. And you too are hydrated well. Make sure the clothing is soft and not washed with harsh soaps and dettol.
Apply ur own breastmilk if u feel nothing else works. It has amazing healing properties.

Dr. Riddhi Kataria

Besan or green gram flour or any other flour powders will make it more dry. Avoid tapping talcum powder too.
