Hi I am 38 weeks pregnant and I am feeling very stressed and frustrated every alternate day. Small small things make me very hyper. Me and MIL do not gel well and my major concern is with her. I try my best to let go things and stay away from her but she keeps following me wherever I go and whatever I do. This makes me more disturbed. I go out with my husband to relax and feel good however i cannot be out 24 hours. will this hypertension or stress affect baby? How do I manage my frustration. She will do some or other thing that keeps me annoying so there is no point in telling her each and every time. My husband is aware of the issue and he supports me lot however may at this crucial phase I am not able to cope up with these things. Please help.

at present ur baby is more important than anything else. Let go the things u don't like. read books listen to music when u get irritated. stress affects the baby

Dear friend, the daily stress that you are experiencing will definitely affect the growing baby's physical growth as well as their mood and emotions when the baby grows. It can affect your BP and your delivery etc. When mom in law is around 24 hrs, engage in some activity that you face her the least during the day. Do some craft, or write a diary for your child, which he or she can read when they grow up. Knitting, embroidery or any other thing that you can do with your hands helps in relieving stress. Also, find a neighbor, with whom you can spend some time during the day to distract yourself. Remember, that the stress is neither healthy for you nor for the baby.

hey mommy we r all wid u .. do not pay too much attention to what ur mil says. keep urself diverted. I would say start talking to ur baby. In ur mind only think what beautiful things u would do for ur baby r with ur baby. Think of positive things.

Hi Anon. This is very normal. Please do talk about this to your gynecologist as well so she knows. I agree with Anita and Sonal. Stress does impact the baby so try your best to keep yourself occupied. Can you call your mom?

why don't u say just 'yes 'n do whatever ur mil says.this makes her stop nagging u all d time.keep always smiling n happy n tell her u r d best mil in d world ever seen..behind do what all stuff u wanted to do..remember ur problems won't last long, but ur bAby is too precious ...don't give much thinking about ur mil.. some people like her should be changed with a positive response..it worked for me to a great extent.

Hi Guys, the same problem is still continuing. Seems like my MIL is intentionally annoying me. My mom is here and she is not letting her feel comfortable which is more annoying. I am in my last week of pregnancy and I want to enjoy and eat many things cooked by mom but my MIL is not allowing her and treating her like a guest. She is following both of us now. I think I should clearly talk to my MIL now. I will ask my husband as well to join in the conversation. Do you think this will work out?
