echo u Akanksha. weight should definitely increase but I don't think that could be the only cause for diabetes or c sec. during my pregnancy my weight was perfectly fine but still had to undergo c sec as my baby's heart rate was fluctuating. stay fit and eat healthy.

Hi. It's always better to monitor your weight gain. It need not lead to complications but controled weight will surely help during and post pregnancy.

Weight gain depends on whether u were underweight or overweight before pregnancy. Healthy weight gain is gradual weight gain on 1-1.5 Kg per month with your baby weight in normal range in the sonographies. If all okay, then it's okay if u have gained 25 kilos also.
If you gain too much weight, you will be tired sooner in the marathon of labor.
If nothing else, atleast walk. To keep up ur stamina levels
