my 39th week has started incase labour does not start until due date should I get induced? I think in my next appointment my gynaec will suggest that, pls guide if induction is a good option or should I wait longer for labour to start on its own? I do not have any complications so far.

It is always best for labor to start on its own. If the placenta is performing well and the non stress test is normal then it's OK to wait. If induction is being planned the baby's head should be completely fixed in the pelvis, the cervix should be anterior and soft and should have started showing signs of effacement. Induction in this situation is more likely to succeed. Discuss your options frankly with the doctor. If you would like to discuss your personal case over a private chat please book the same over the app. The option is available.

Hi sanha!! just delivered 27 days back..Go to ur gynaec n get checked abt ur cervix...how much is it opened up..wait till u pass 40th week..i delivered 8 days post due date .Had got myself induced as the due date had passed n no signs of laboir were seen..but unfortunately evn after being in pain for entire day my cervix had not dilated which left me with no option other than a c section.. I did a mostake by getting induced..So stay calm..just b in touch with ur doc..chk for dilation of cervix..ideally more than 8 cms is required for a normal delivery...chk for water levels in..n also keep a close watch on baby movements and heart rate...ur doctor will do so through NST machine..If everyrhng goes normal in ur next visit ..please wait do not rush..U will deliver normally a healthy baby...All the best...

thanks for sharing your experience summaiyya
