Congratulations! By when are you planning for a baby?
Congratulations! How many weeks are you?
I have a
9 months old baby
Neha Mani Mishra
Basically there should be 6-8 full diapers if the baby is urinating properly..if the diaper seems heavy and full it is time to change..you can make out by the diaper's appearance
Ideally change diapers every 4 hours to avoid any infection or rashes. Pee count should be 6-7 times a day... You will know the count by seeing the heaviness of diaper.
I am sharing with you a post which you would find helpful.
6-8 diapers ??? My baby used only 3 diapers since morning !!! Is it too less.... is this wrong...?? I am also not very sure if he is enough of breast milk also as he keeps crying even after drinking for good 1 to 2 hour!! I hope he is getting enough feed
Reeti better you keep your baby on cloth nappy during day time some day...So that you can keep the track and know the pee count.
If baby pees 7-8 times minimum...Then baby is fed enough.
Hey Reeti baby diapers have marking also which indicates it’s full ... change once you see that line colour changed... else every 3-4 hours you should change.. give some diaper free time also to avoid rashes...
Sonam I am using cloth nappies with nappy inserts! Since morning I have changed only 3 nappy inserts
Change it every 3 hours, give some diaper free time. With every change, clean the area gently with Luke warm water and Pat dry. Then apply thin layer of coconut oil after air drying the area. You can keep a track this way. Usually a diaper will become heavy with 3 pees. So ,on an average if we take,1 heavy diaper = 2 pee counts, then at least 4 heavy diapers which makes it 8 times in 24 hours should be considered fine. Anything more than this is absolutely okay too!
I always had the same doubt. It’s difficult to keep a track of pee using diapers. So on random days I used cloth nappies during day time to ensure the pee count is sufficient.
I am using these nappy pads.... keep checking every 1-1.5 hrs .... change it as soon as it is soiled... since morning I have changed 3 such pads .... so in a way 3 pee count
Hi reeti how are both of u doing now? At this stage baby needs to feed every 2 hrs. Pls read this article for sure Breastfeeding Basics: How Much And When

Thanks Asha Chaudhary !! Will surely going to read these articles. Yes i do burp him after every feed
Try more Diaper free time and try changing it 3 to 4 hours.
You can use Mothersparsh water wipes to clean and prevent rashes
I think for such a small baby cloth nappy is much better. It will not cause any rash to the soft skin. I started diaper after three month that too only when i used to go out. So i never had to face rashes problems with my baby
Ya cloth dipers r v gd for new born becoz they have vvvv sensitive skin so plz use only cotton cloth dipers
rinki ... thanks ! But won’t cloth diapers disturb babies sleep?
No my baby rarely do anything in night while sleeping something she do keep on watching when u feed ur baby
At this moment baby is hungry every two hours.... So it will be easy if u change the diaper every two hours....after the feed...
This can save the baby from infection and rashes.. as the baby grows u can extend the time to 4 hours but not more than that... I use to do this and till now she is far from rashes and infection... and yes always remember to wipe baby dry with a soft cotton cloth after removing diaper and give at least 10mnts for next diaper
Yes cloth nappies are good but .... U know sometimes baby urinate frequently sometimes in drops.... This can create a irritation and can disturb baby's sleep..
