Congratulations! By when are you planning for a baby?
Congratulations! How many weeks are you?
I have a
2 years old baby
Sonam, mother's milk is Gold. So don't believe in myths. They say u should only beast feed exclusively until at least 6 months and you will see a healthy happy baby. no water , no honey, nothing required.
it's 100%true. because i used that to my twins
if mother feed is not enough u may use
he's on bf.. but weight increment is too low.. and he has to undergo a heart surgery..fir which he has to gain weight otherwise there will b risks.. dats y we r worried too much.
Formula is not the answer. It is the biggest myth. Do not bother too much about weight unless u r baby is way behind his growth milestones. Your baby really doesn't need anything else apart from your breast milk. Low milk supply is a myth too. The more u feed ur child, the more milk u will produce. This is nature's law and it is beautiful. just believe in its beauty and go on. :)
Sonam, did you discuss with paediatrician about the weight gain factor? Your paediatrician could give you the proper guidance. Until and unless necessary, formula is best avoided if you have enough breastmilk.
I do have enough milk.. and my child is on bf only.. it's just that I read this somewhere.. so thought of confirming..
hi Sonam this is a myth. why it is said that formula milk leads to weight gain. because the quantity of milk the baby is consuming is decided by you. for example if u r making 90 ml u make sure that baby drinks that much. what happens in breastfeeding is that the baby is drinking according to his or her fulfillment. so that's why. why do u want ur baby to gain weight ? according to his or her age n height if the weight is OK then don't. and please consult with ur doctor about ur baby's weight issues.
he's 2 month old and just 2.55 kg.. he has issues with heart.. and gaining weight is very important as told by the cardiologist.. otherwise they will hv to operate him as early as possible and there are risks too..
it's not such that I wanna give formula milk.. it was just a concern so thought of discussing.. sheetal rai your comment was really very helpful..
Sonam, my baby was low weight, after 6 months breastfeed, started solids... but no major weight gain.. he is continuing in the same graph as his birth weight... but he is very healthy... if anything other than bm could have made weight gain, then he would certainly have gained weight...
