Q:

after cracked nipples.. have not been able to feed the baby for 2  days and he was on formula.. now i m. trying to get milk through pegion pump... bt milk is coming only from one breast... and only few drops from others... plz suggest vat to do..?

Sheeba Vijesh

instead of pumping, make the baby suckle... that will bring in the milk.. if milk supply has gone down, then spend two days in bed with the baby with as little clothing as possible and breast feed as many times as possible.. have leafy vegetables, drumsticks and drumstick leaves...

The suckling of the baby is the best pump. A manual pump is fine but if you use an electric option make sure you have speed and suction settings. What is important is to ensure that the baby's latch is correct as else you will end up with sore nipples again. please visit a Lactation specialist for the same.
