Aiswarya Shankar some doctors say to start semi solids from 4 and half months... but majority support 6 months only.. its like a personal opinion from doctor to doctor. but WHO recommends breastfeeding till 6 months, and its from studies done across years. If you have no problem breastfeeding, you should continue it. Baby will get the benefits in the long term...

The recommendation of the WHO is six months provided the baby is developing and growing as per standards. If that is not the case then all efforts must be made to understand why milk supply is not proving adequate. In some cases even the mom has certain personal reasons for wanting to start solids. If baby is growing well as per the growth chart then it is suggested that exclusive breast feeding continue till six months.
