Q:

hello....I'm breast feeding my 1.5 month old baby but my milk is not sufficient for him..so I'm combing it with top milk also...pls suggest me if anything is wrong in this or should I try to give him my milk only. thanks
Also during breast feeding he is taking so much time around one hour. what can be the reason?

Kalpna Thakur

It's ok to give the baby top milk if breast milk is not sufficient..try foods that increase milk supply such as whole-wheat daliya n follow a healthy diet...n above all try to be stress free about insufficient milk supply..it affects the milk supply negatively..

he may not b latching properly so maybe takin time to fill his tummy..why don't u see a Lactation consultant .. though it's absu fine to give top feed see if u can express ur milk n give him

take shatavari powder wth milk twice a day it  wl definately increase ur milk production
also eat healthy food like green vegetables
methi
spinach
drumstick
bittergourd
bottelgourd
turi
10 almonds daily
paneer
dals
drink milk 2-3 tyms
eat salad like carrot
al dese things in ur diet wl increase milk production

The main thing which will increase milk production is frequent feeding and ensuring that the latch is correct so that Stimulation is optimum. Ensure that baby latches with mouth wide open and has a major portion of the areola in the mouth. You can visit a Lactation specialist to have this checked. Drink plenty of fluids and have a healthy and balanced diet.
