Agreed Preetjyot. My daughter had same in her left eye and the pediatric ophthalmologist had same diagnosis
I would recommend to get eye chk up done thro a pediatric ophthalmologist.
Dr Mihir Kothari is listed in the BabyChakra services.
I have found him to be approachable, very child friendly, polite and puts u and ur baby at ease.
He practises at Thane and Wadala and some couple of other places in Mumbai

What you mentioned is what my younger daughter also went through since her birth.
I was explained by the doctor that this is a normal phenomenon for newborns.. It's basically related to treat duct which may take sometime to develop fully...
All you need to do is keep wiping the eyes with luke warm water and clean cotton.. Do this specially before the baby sleeps...
Also you can gently massage the edge of the beginning of the nose, right between the eyes, it helps in the development of the tear duct...
After 2.5 months, my girl became absolutely fine...
