Q:

hi... my baby is 22 days old today after feed I only held her for 5 mins and then put her on her bed and within a couple of minutes little milk came out of her nose... is this because I kept her flat on bed immediately after feed or is something else wrong...  this has happened for the first time...
pls help, I am a little worried n scared...

Dhruti Dalal Please burp baby properly. As baby is too small..she will ingest air while latching. Yet to get grip for her. If air is trapped...babies will vomit. And it will come through nose as wel. Please don't leave baby unattended. Breathing may block. I am not scaring you. But keep baby upright for few more minutes. And when you see baby is vomiting... lift baby to upright position. It's normal.

hi Dhruti, you should burp your baby well after feeding, else baby will spit up milk. That is exactly what happened, and some of it came through the nose because nose and mouth are connected. If you don't burp, she can also get gas problems.

my baby never spitted milk till 2 and a half months.. after that he started spitting.. now I burp him in between the feeds and after the feed.. and I hold him in upright position for atleast 8-10 mins.. his spitting problem is reduced a lot.. so, don't you worry.. just follow these steps.. and read the article by sheeba.. everything will b fine.
