My 3 year old son refuses to let go of his lower lip and I can now see that it is impacting his front teeth. Anyone here faced a similar problem and was able to resolve it?

Is he folding the lip inside and using teeth to hold it..this and many other kind of habits develop from time to time in nail one is to make him sit and explain that this habit can impact his teeth and even lips and whenever he feels like doing it he can try and distract himself by making may be scribbling something or colouring..other is to also Consult doctor to get ideas as to how can he quit this habit

I agree with Aditi Ahuja. Keep the kid busy, positive reinforcement by praising the child when he is not doing it helps. If the above things do not work, consult a pediatric dentist. Ask about habit breaking appliances. There are different appliances for thumb sucking, lip sucking, etc. If habits like these are not corrected on time, they could lead to abnormal development of the teeth, jaws and face as well.

Thanks a lot. Our paed said this will go away with time on it's own. But it has been months already. I will go consult a paed dentist now... Any recommendations for Bengaluru around Sarjapur/Marathalli area?

Aditi Ahuja he would do it while he is engrossed in these activities as a means to focus more...
