Ambience: Managed by Sri Ballaleshwar trust overall and Pooja Sakhare, is a 1st floor 2 BHK modest flat (with spacious terrace converted into playing area with various kids' rides). The day care is not very airy however walls painted with forest images and animals tries to compensate, though in vain. The walls of inner rooms, though, have been designed to fascinate young minds. The day care diligently follow rules and laws pertaining to day care (number of kids/ sq feet)

Facilities:The day care has subscribed to KidKonnect app and the staff is very prompt on sending ideal meal calendars, holiday alerts, notices on it. Though the app has various glitches while accessing it from parent's end, be it posting reminders, complains, feedback to the management. The in house kitchen is only used for warming up food. I was told that the day care is also in the process of taking required permission to open its kitchen to be able to serve the children from in-house. There is no AC and the management and staff encourages no-diaper for all the wards. Th reasons are good enough for conscientious parents - ACs aids in spreading of infection and the foul smell spreads rapidly in AC. The ratio might be 2:10. Charges are hourly based Rs.21/ hr for the day care Rs.250 for registration and Rs.1250 monthly for pre-school. additional charge of Rs.150 for using the KidKonnect app. The timings are 7.30 AM to 8.30 PM.

Positives: The management and staff is accessible all the time and very responsible. They take feedbacks positively and work on it if required. They keep individual daily charts and instructions for each child in the day care and follow it to the T. The staffs post pictures, videos almost daily on their Facebook page ( which is by far the most active webpage amongst all the day cares. They also share pictures and videos via WatsApp with the parents if they have are facing any difficulty with the child. They are very prompt on tackling SOS situations - like vomitting, fever etc. They also have a doctor on call who almost always arrive before parents themselves! They pride themselves (and I would readily agree) in understanding each of their wards unique personality and the ways to tackle them individually. The youngest most ward they had was of 6 months old and who is now 2 years old. The day care has been pivotal in toilet training my son and training him to drink milk from glass (1.5 yrs old at that time).

Negatives: No individual mattress/ bed for children. Though they do have thick durri, yet spreading only a durri + plastic sheet on the floor isn't very comfortable. The teachers make lot of spelling/ pronunciation mistakes (plam - for palm, loin - for lion etc) which makes me assume that the teachers are not highly skilled for the job. That said, the teachers are very good in supervising and overlooking the entire day to day matter of day care. The location, especially the entire stairwell and lift area is the breeding ground of mosquitoes! Though the day care take utmost care in using mosquito sprays etc. yet it was a major point of concern for me.

Overall: My priority at that point in time , was that my child should be happy, should have lots of kids to play with, be in a hygenic environment and taken care of very affectionately - and BlueBirds did do all of that! There are some areas of improvement though, mainly in terms of quality of teachers.

Very informative!
