I hired a maid through this agency in April. The initial interactions were not very professional but I persisted as I wanted to try out a Bengali maid. The maid they brought was good with her work, responsible and honest. Majority of my discussions were with Mr. Dilip Chatterjee, who is decent to talk to. He sounds committal but one needs to really chase him hard to for little things and they have no written communication until the first one lands up at your house. They charged a sum of INR 11000 as the annual agency charge (will require renewal after a year) and also the cost of road transport involved in getting the maid from their office in Kandivali to my place. The service charges of the maid is also decided by them depending on the volume of work and starts INR 12000 onwards. There is not much room for negotiation directly with the maid, as roughly 10% of her salary also goes to the agency as commission. They have a service boy called Vishwanath whose words are not to be relied upon. If you hire their services please insist that they get the receipt and agreement papers on time alongwith the maid (as there will be no written documentation otherwise). The maid had to leave in 3 months due to family problems so they got me a second one after rigorous followups. I had also spoken to a couple of their existing customers and they all say that the agency has a good supply of maids and have been in the business for nearly 15 years. They supply maids not only to Mumbai, but to rest of India as well (I am not sure how the logistics works for them). PS: Mr. Prahas Ghosh is the other contact person over there but they (Mr. Chatterjee and Mr. Ghosh) alternate between Kolkata and Mumbai.
