Cheery and engaging interiors, lot of activities, efficient housekeepers (they provide meals too), good teacher student ratio (2:8/9), proper routine (both of meals and daily activities), friendly teachers, lot of space for indoor games and running around for toddlers, CCTV cameras installed, high on communication between parents and the owner (separate watsapp groups for day care parents, pre-school parents and nursery parents - besides other mode of communication), proper and regular diary maintenance of every child (of their daily food intake and normal routine) --- sets Sunshine Stars apart from the rest of day care and schools in Sanpada. But what also sets it apart is the strict and suffocating environment. It is a kind of little hostel where LOs are subjected to much discipline, instructions and sometimes even physical shake (I have witnessed this) at the cost of child's tenderness and vulnerability. All the photographs of any events or any activities very clearly seemed to be posed --- Not a single random pic of kids that could tell you that they are having fun. Even the teachers feel suffocated - they are strictly not permitted to interact or share anything with parents. The owner - Nisha - also has problems with parents becoming friends with each other and she says that then they team up against her! Nisha is a well qualified and pretty experienced teacher herself, however degree doesnt maketh a man. What is missing is the affection and tenderness with which you treat a child - and that IS a big thing. Nisha's communicating capabilities on watsaap groups also at times create lot of confusion and chaos - she comes across as a very brusque, rude, short tempered, hasty, impulsive, controlling and demanding person --- everything that a day care owner SHOULDN'T BE! My very outgoing but dominating yet happy go lucky son (3.5 yr old now) developed the habit of sulking and sitting in a corner with head down for more than an hour there. Even after a gap of 6 months, whenever i drive by the day care area, he insist that he doesnt want to go to school and Nisha ma'am!
