I conceived after 6 months and was very scared and confused. I went to him again and he listened to me and my husband patiently. He said to me, “Vasudha, these days’ people generally have one kid or two kids at most. This is a very beautiful phase in your life and there are chances it won’t come again. So make most of it and enjoy as much as you can. Many women complain to me that they didn’t enjoy their pregnancy and they regret it. Don’t let this happen to you.” I am glad that he told me this at that time.
I wasn’t well for the first trimester and had a hard time dealing with, but Mr. Naik was always calm and advised to take things slowly. He also is one of the doctor who doesn’t write tests etc. unnecessarily, my other doctor was keen on tests every month, but he would always say, “What’s the need?”
Later I developed an infection in the breast after 7 months of my delivery. I went to him again and he remembered me, he asked me jokingly, “Again”, to which I said, “no” and we laughed.
I developed an instant rapport with Mr. Naik and was never scared to ask him any questions. I asked him about post-natal care and to eat ghee or not to eat ghee post-delivery during the second month of pregnancy and he told me stories and anecdotes of his previous patients which were fun to hear. Basically a discussion with him took my mind away from unnecessary things that bothered me.
Dr. Naik's wife Mrs. Savita Naik is a Pediatrician, so post-natal care is also available right there.
One con, however, is that he is not available on Sundays and Saturday evenings. In case of emergency, the nurses and an assistant doctor is available.
Dr. Naik charges Rs 750 per consultation and if you meet him for a follow up or some query in the same week, he forgoes his consultation fee.
I highly recommend Dr. Sudhir Naik
