A Penguin Dad-“There are few examples in nature of a father more dedicated than the emperor penguin”- I honestly cannot find a better way to describe Rajesh-the father. 

One way to approach parenting is taking your share of the responsibility. But how do you describe a father who is a natural parent to the child? Let me explain my predicament with some instances-

1.	The dreaded Mornings- From waking up our son to getting him to brush his teeth, taking bath, dressing him. If this was not enough, feeding a fussy eater his breakfast. That’s daily morning routine for Rajesh.
2.	Vacation Madness – vacations throw the most intensive parenting challenge when it becomes a 24X7 situation with no office escapes. When it comes to planning the day for our son, Rajesh takes the lead
3.	It is said that kids can stay away from mother the whole day but not in the night. Well that’s not true anymore in our case. 

Well it is true that I can feel like the third wheel sometimes, but on the positive side,I managed to do a solo trek to Himalayas, out of network for a whole of 10 days, where Rajesh managed our son 24x7, so I am not complaining !! :)

Among the two of us Mr.hubby is the calmer and patient one and that also shows in our parenting style. As a mommy I always tend to over pamper my boy and my reaction mode turns On as soon as Samarth starts to cry or cringe for anything. I know this isn't the right approach but Sammy's cries just makes me alert. In such situations I thank God for blessing me with such a partner  He being the calm one ensures that not only Sammy but his mumma also learns self restraint and boy he is doing a good job as of now. Even though he is a lil strict, our baby always choses him over me and wants to be with his Pa-pa . 
I accept this happily coz this is what I also did. Chose his Pa-pa over everyone :)@

EQUAL PARENTING yes its all about equal Parenting these days... Our ancestors never believed in this and this is the way we are being raised with too...but breaking the stereotypes now the 21st century is all about equal Parenting ever since the couple expect a baby... this is how they make the announcement  "WE ARE PREGNANT" 

On this father's day baby chakra has taken the initiative and given all the mommies the chance to share there equal Parenting story so here is mine.

The day we (me and Viren) came to know we are pregnant we distributed our household chores keeping my and baby's health in mind. So washing clothes was Viren's duty and cooking food was mine (except aata kneeding), folding of clothes, dusting, bedsheet change everything we use to do together and for rest of the chores like dish washing and cleaning of house we had a maid. 

Everything was going well but unfortunately one day due to some exersion and extra work my placenta moved and moving of placenta is not a good sign.. I was about to enter my third trimester and from that day doctor advised me strict bed rest.. I was allowed to move out of my bed only to pee and to take shower that to be under someone's supervision. My mum came to stay with us to take care of me.. She use to cook food for us and all other household chores were taken care by Viren along with his job. He is being my support system always and never complained or gave me that tired look. 

And now when Vardaan (our baby) is born so again the household chores and Vardaan's responsibility is distributed no matter my husband does a job and I am a home maker. We both feed Vardaan however I have to teach Viren how to, but yes he learned it passionately, Monday to Friday Vardaan's bathing session is my responsibility and on weekends its Viren's, washing of heavy clothes are viren's duty and washing light clothes are mine, cooking food is mine and Viren take care of vardaan during that time and get personal time too to bond with hum (I have never tried cooking or doing anything taking vardaan in one hand and doing work from another hand) but whenever I don't feel like cooking he takes over the kitchen and cooks either parantha or pasta... Oh yes how can I forget my bed milk and his bed tea was, is and will always be given by Viren only...sorry I dont feel like waking up before him... Taking out Vardaan to park is Viren's responsibility because that time I call it as "me time" which is also important and he understands that too that I need some relaxation too.... Changing of nappy or clothes if vardaan pee's in his pants was never a question that who will change..because that can be done by any of us, putting Vardaan to bed and make him sleep was exclusively my responsibility when he use to breastfeed but now when he is weaned its Vardaan's choice that to whom he wants to hug and sleep with, we both give each other time for salon session, gym, talking on phone separately if important. On top of everything we decided that we will not always indulge with vardaan in every activity he does because that can make him dependent on us to play or do anything... So now he quietly plays with his toys, household things like water bottles, kitchen utensils, chargers etc and that time is our time. 


Husband and wife are called as better half and my husband is my best half I cannot imagine my life without him. He is today's generation man. We both believe in a generation without gender biased that household chores are not only women duty but man's responsibility too... Pink are not only for girls but for boys too... Now when women are earning money being a helping hand to his husband why can't man can do some household chores to make her woman a bit relaxed. 

We believe In equal Parenting and that's what we are going to teach Vardaan too.

EQUAL PARENTING... A GENDER WITHOUT GENDER BIASED

हमारा पेरेंटिंग जर्नी काफी उतार चढ़ाव से भरा हुआ रहा। जहां एक माँ होते हुए मैंने बिना सोये रात गुजारे वहीं बेबी के पापा ने भी रात बिना सोये गुजारे। दाद देनी होगी, रात भर जाग कर सुबह काम पे जाना, काफी मुश्किल रहा होगा लेकिन एक उफ तक नही की। मुझे आज भी याद है जब 3 महीने में बेबी के आंख की आपरेशन हुई थी, वो रात भर जाग कर उसे दूध पिलाने की कोशिश करते, गोद मे उठाये चुप कराने की कोशिश करते। जब आपरेशन थिएटर से निकाला था बेबी को, वो दर्द में था तो उनके आंखों में आंसू थे। याद है मुझे जब मैं किसी फंक्शन में गई हूँ, उन्होंने बेबी की कमान अपने हाथों ले ली थी सिर्फ इसलिए कि मैं एन्जॉय कर पाऊं। जब मैं वापस आती थी इस टेंशन में की पता नही बेबी ने कुछ खाया भी होगा या नही तो खुशी होती थी देख कर की खाना तो ही गया है, डायपर भी बदल दिए गए है और सुला दिया गया है। आज भी आफिस से आने के बाद उनकी ड्यूटी होती है बेबी को सुलाने की। ढाई साल का हो चुका है बेटा लेकिन आज भी डॉक्टर के सारे अपॉइंटमेंट में वो साथ जाते हैं, आफिस की छुट्टी ले कर। मुझे याद है जब बेबी की हार्ट की आपरेशन हुई थी, सिर्फ माँ को बच्चे के साथ रहना था एडमिट, मुझसे ज्यादा टेंशन उनके चेहरे पे थी। आज हम सब कुछ साथ मिल के करते हैं। उनका काम दिन को आफिस जाना होता है तो वहीं मैं रात को घर मे आफिस बना लेती हूँ। वो बेबी को सुलाते है, डायपर बदलते हैं, उसकी केअर करते हैं और मैं अपना काम करती हूँ। जहां लोग मुझे जज करते हैं, वहां वो मेरा हौसला बढ़ाते हुए बोलते हैं कि बहुत मेहनत करती हो तुम। इस बच्चे को कोई और नही संभाल पाता इसलिए भगवान ने तमको दिया है। बहुत किस्मत वाले है हम दोनों जिनको हर लड़ाई में हिम्मत उनसे मिलती हैं, हर मुश्किल में साथ उनका होता है और वो राह पे आने वाली सारी कठिनाइयों से हमे बचाने की कोशिश करते हैं।

The moment baby is born,  everybody who comes to visit you will want to take him into their arms, play with him, cuddle with him n so on.. They will completely forget the fact that you exist..!!

In my case #equalparents means the emotional equality..&nbsp; 
Me and my husband never bound each other for doing things for our daughter kushagri. It came by heart i means there are times when my husband surprises completely by doing things for her without even expecting from me..sharing some of those moments-- 
- Few days back i was suffering from fever, low bp, cold, throat infection all together, i was literally not able to stand. That time my biggest concern was to feed kushagri but her dad took the responsibility of feeding her infact not only feeding but cooking also..main so kar uthi bhi nahi hoti thi and these two breakfast karke bethe hote the..(kushagri generally only eats by me but she was also so cooperative those days) 
- Generally it is seen that only the mother cleans the poop, pee or vomit of her child and i am never expected from my husband that he would do, but again he surprised me many times, whenever she is done with pooping, if my husband is nearby he goes and makes her washed and flushed,he never calls me to inform that she has done pooping..&nbsp; 
- Can you believe i never cleaned her vomit yes thats the thing i couldnt do for her, but hats off to her father he not only cleaned but few days back when she was not well and vomit at midnight her father got up first and put his hand to collect her vomit.. oh god that was a complete shocking for me.. but ya thats what his FATHERHOOD means.. 
- Whenever kushagri wants to go downstairs in an odd time her father is the person who goes,even if he is extremely tired he never say no to her.. 
- Whenever she wants something to buy he is the person she looks for surety to get it.. 
So thats what we are for her..&nbsp; #equalparents

He is the most loving and caring dad for my children. Blessed to have him in my life. He justify the equal parent title so aptly. I delivered my second baby after a gap of  10years with lot many complications. He look after the elderson like a mom does. Waking him. Preparing his tiffin box, dropping him to school, preparing him for his exams, looking after his extra curricular  activities with his hectic work schedule. I have no clue how he managed but he did a fantastic job. ND after the younger was born. Hitesh equally participated with me in changing his diapers, feeding him, putting him to sleep,spending time with him after office  so that I can catch up on a nap,take ample rest. With two kids life has totally changed ND he is always there to help me whenever I need him.  He is totally a hands-on dad. For me he not only justifies the title "equal parent" but he is an equal partner too in all means.

When life blessed me with the joy of becoming a mother, little did I know that I have been blessed twice. Yes, it was the beginning of ThePapaStartup too! A perfect papa with abundance of love & perseverance. From the day of my Pregnancy till date, you have been rock solid. You bought is his first dress, his first bed, his first diapers. You clipped his nails first, changed his diapers, fed him the first morsel, you had so many special moments with him. And yes, he used to recognize you from the very beginning. The joy in your faces remain the same till date, reminding me of so many our memories. You took care of him so well, when I was hospitalised and I couldn't nurse him. Each time my back hurt, you were with both of us being our spine.

அன்பையும் பாசத்தையும் முழுமையாக தர #equal parent குழந்தையின் வளர்ச்சி இதில் இருக்கிறது. இது மிகவு‌ம் முக்கியம். 

இருவருக்கு இடையே ஒற்றுமை அதிகரிக்க, குழ‌ந்தை‌ அதை கற்றுக்கொள்ள ஒரு அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையின் எடுத்துக்காட்டாக #equal Parent இருக்கும்.

என் குழந்தைக்கு 1 வருடம் வரை நான் தான் தூங்க வைப்பேன். தாலாட்டுப் பாடல் பாடி. இப்ப அவளுக்கு (அவ அப்பா இல்ல நான் மாற்றி தூங்க வைப்போம்) நாங்க இருவரும் தூங்க வைக்கனும். ஒரு முறை தூங்கும் பொழுது இடையே கண்வழிப்பாள் அப்போது அவள் அப்பா அருமையாக தட்டி தட்டி தூங்க வைப்பார். அவ அப்பா அம்மா இரண்டு பேரும் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கனும் அவளுக்கு. நாங்க பகிர்ந்து எங்கள் குழந்தையை பார்த்துக்கொள்வோம். அப்பொழுது தான் குழந்தைக்கு இருவரின் அரவணைப்பு முழுமையாக கிடைக்கும். கண்டிப்பா குழந்தைகள் அதை தான் விரும்பு வார்கள். அப்பதான் தாய் தந்தை இருவருக்கும் ஒரு திர்ப்தி.

அம்மா குழந்தையை நல்லது சொல்லி வளர்க்கனும், தந்தை அதற்கு அவர்கள் கடந்து வந்த அனுபவங்களை குழந்தையின் வயதுக்கு தகுந்த மாதிரி சொல்லி தரனும். 

தாய் தந்தை இருவரும் குழந்தையிடம் தினமும் 

நேரம் ஒதுக்க வேண்டும். பாசத்திற்கு குழந்தைகள் ஏற்கம் வரும். வெளியூர் வேலை இருந்தாலும் தொலைபேசி, விடியோ காலில் பேச வையுங்கள். அப்போது யாரோ ஒருவர் (தாய்/தந்தை) அவர்களின் நேரத்தை முழுமையாக ஒதுக்குங்கள். இல்லையே தாத்தா பாட்டி அந்த பிரிவை சரி செய்வார்கள். 

தந்தையர் தின வாழ்த்துக்கள்! Equal parenting surely, makes the difference in our children's lives.

Mandar!  Until our daughter was born in 2006, I only knew him as one the best partners who would cook if I am late from work,  who would run laundry if I am busy making and eating breakfast or on a concall for work.
