Go out and buy a box of home pregnancy tests so you are ready in case you don’t get your period next week. You may be able to see a positive result on a pregnancy test now, but don’t be too disappointed if the test is negative – you may have just tested too early. For best results, test first thing in the morning, when your urine is most concentrated.

Repeat the test at about 5 weeks after the first date of your last period. You also need to make an appointment with your doctor who can schedule blood tests to get a more accurate result. If another week goes by and you still haven’t gotten your period or a positive result, it’s best to see a doctor or midwife.
