Meet Super Mom Shalini

Meet Shalini Nautiyal, a super mommy who is a techie by profession and creative by passion. She is the founder of Coffee Mug Ideas and leads Product development and Marketing for www.yipeedo.com. Here she shares her story of being a mom and an entrepreneur and what keeps her going at these dual jobs.

My Mom Quotient: Motherhood for me is all about striking the right balance between being an unconditionally loving mom, good teacher, a trustworthy friend & someone he can look up to. I like my son to learn by exploring instead of preaching. I want him to grow up as a nice human being, someone who is compassionate about others around him. I want him to have the same values as my parents gave to me, which is integrity above all. As a mom I love this quote “I can only imagine where these tiny feet will go in their lifetime. My only hope is that they never forget the way back home.”

My Mom Inc. Story: Since my marriage (with my best friend Deepak:)) both of us were very passionate about starting something of our own. It was in 2012 that I shared an idea with him and he encouraged me to take it forward. I quit my job and started working on it. I also conceived in 2012 and kept working on my idea. Interestingly Yipeedo’s first POC was launched on 2nd April and Arjun, my darling son, was born on 5th April :), I legally registered my company Coffee Mug Ideas, in 2013. We just launched our first product into consumer internet space. It’s called Yipeedo.com a recommendation engine to help you plan a day in-city. Its literally like managing twins with a toddler and a startup, both need immense care and attention.

My Inspiration: My family & my Husband. My parents and also my in-laws have always been very encouraging and supportive of me working and doing something creative. My Husband has always been the rock behind me, he is immensely supportive & believes in me.

Advice/ Tips:To Moms: In today’s busy world where social distractions are at their best, just try to spend quality time with your kids and stay happy. Our positive energy translates into them totally & so does the negative.

To Mompreneurs: Just be happy in small things in life.Managing a kid and a startup can sometimes be very stressful, but just hang on and believe in yourself.
