Pregnancy Week 16: Emotional Changes

Are you having a hard time sticking to your weight goals? Don't let it get you down - it's easy to obsess over your weight during pregnancy, but there is no need to panic if you're having trouble sticking to the 10-12 kilo goal.

If you are gaining weight too quickly, don't be tempted to skip meals or go on a low-calorie diet. It's important to eat nutritious, filling foods throughout the day, including complex carbohydrates, protein and fiber. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and skip processed foods, sugary snacks and packaged products. Remember to exercise daily - even a short walk of 20 minutes makes all the difference!

Not putting on enough weight? Don't resort to eating high-calorie, unhealthy foods as a fast way to gain kilos. Instead, eat foods with good, healthy fats, like nuts, dried fruits and avocados.
