Whole Wheat Banana Walnut Cake


If you are craving for some dessert, try this recipe guilty free



Ripe banana-  2 large

Brown Sugar- 1/4 cup

Oil- 1/4 cup

Vanilla extract -1 tsp

Wheat flour - 3/4 cup

Baking powder - 1/2 tsp

Baking soda - 1/2 tsp

Walnuts- 1/3 cup chopped




1- Whisk together flour, baking powder and soda. Keep aside.


2- Peel and mash the bananas with a fork. Add sugar. Keep aside for a few minutes until the sugar dissolves.


3- Add the oil and vanilla extract and whisk with a fork until properly combined


4-  Add in the flour mix and fold gently.


5- When properly mixed, add walnuts, reserving some to sprinkle on top.


6- Pour the mix in a dusted loaf tin, then sprinkle the walnuts and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree C for 40-45 minutes.



Tip: When using fresh fruits in cake, do not beat the batter vigorously otherwise you’ll end up with a rubbery cake.

This is so well written.

was looking for a whole wheat recipe,will definitely try! a few questions,if you can answer- 1) can I use stevia instead of sugar? will it impact the softness of cake? 2) can we do a veggie frosting on top? by veggie frosting I mean without eggs!?
