A Letter From A Mom To Her Son

This mother’s day is special to me in every way I could imagine! My son is turning 1.5 years old and reciprocates in his baby language or in actions to whatever I talk to him.

A lot of people write letters to their unborn (I have it in my secret journal too), their daughters and their mothers on mother’s day, I chose to write it to my son who has to grow up to be a gentleman not just in terms of respecting  woman but respecting everyone: human and earth alike, living non living alike, emotions and roots alike,  values and virtues alike!

I want him to learn equity and equality alike not as a generous gesture alone, or to prove himself as a provider to the needy, but because I want him to be someone who leads from the front and is himself an example to the society and to every age group he is falling in at that time!

So my words to you-

Nabh, you’ve come to me as a blessing like no other. It would be needless to say papa and maa love you beyond words and worlds. The moment I held you in my arms I cried the happiest of tears I ever had! For this you should appreciate the present woman and the one you’ll choose to live your life with…that you should only be the reason of moist eyes of a woman if they are Tears of joy.. Never otherwise!

We all grow up learning good things and bad habits, I can’t hold you back from doing things which you might feel are right at that moment, but always remember if a parent is cautioning you for something, they either have seen a very dear one suffer…so avoid habits like addiction, teasing, bullying, lying to your family, stealing etc. Trust Your Parents, we’ll always get your back and are the only ones who will forgive you and accept you even when you feel that the whole world has disowned you!

People usually blame a girl or her family if any mishap occurs, believe me if I say a son is equally responsible for his actions and is accountable to his parents in all means and ways as a girl is! Be the one to teach people around you the meaning of Family Values

Try to help everybody around you, But always remember nobody should be taking you for granted. Be Your Own Person. This nowhere means you should be high headed or snobbish, but loveyourself first, respectyourself first . This way nobody shall take any undue advantage of your goodness and kindness.

Read a lot! Because it opens our mind to the world of ideas, explorations, curiosity, admiration and all the feelings of excitement we don’t get to know without books. Yes books, because nothing is as detailed, satisfying and intense than holding a book in your hand with all the genuinity possible, this can’t be matched by technology ever!

And lastly, try and be an honest person, because if you have a pure heart, you’ll have a conscience, through this you’ll always be confident in yourself and shall make us proud that whatever our son is doing, is right because we’ve raised you so! An honest, truthful and courageous person one day leads the world around him!

So I wish you all the luck, love, health, wealth, joy, pride, long lists of achievements, virtue, moral, success and everything good on this world. Go get it!
