Childbirth, the most painful and yet the most amazing process in existence is something almost every couple looks forward to. And though they hope and expect everything to go completely normal and without any complications, sometimes these things are not in our control and the mother ends up having a cesarean delivery instead of a normal one. Cesarean is basically a surgical operation where the baby is brought out from the stomach instead of the vagina and this is a problematic thing for the mother even after surgery. Though people tend to look at the bigger picture, they often forget about the mother needs to do or cannot do after having a cesarean birth for some time at least.

But we know what you go through mommies and thus we would like to tell them to not only you but everyone else also about these 4 things that you just either have to or cannot do after a cesarean.

1. A no sex policy

This is one of the most common things that a mother with cesarean birth goes through. Due to the pain and quite literally a big enough scan on her due to the incision she just can’t get in the mood for sex. And if by chance the couple does have sex, it is more painful for the mother now as compared to earlier.

2. Painkillers all day

You have just undergone surgery. And though you have brought new life in the world you are in a lot of pain even after the delivery and you will be that way for quite some time. So obviously you will be prescribed some medicine to control this pain. And that puts you on painkillers all day for a lot of days. As a result of which you feel groggy and sleepy most of the time.

3. Constipation- The worst enemy

The one thing that has the ability to ruin your day before it even starts is an improper bowel movement or in other words- Constipation. And though, you can fight it easily, after your cesarean, however, it’s a different story altogether. Due to your haywire hormones and the painkillers you have been taking, there is a direct effect on your digestive system and it becomes difficult to get that waste out no matter how hard you try.

4. The breastfeeding problem

Nothing about childbirth is easy. And if the childbirth is through cesarean, it worsens 2x. But, as we have always said, breastmilk is the best food for a newborn and it is also important for the mother to breastfeed the child. Thus, it is recommended that mothers start feeding their baby immediately after delivery. But in the case of cesarean delivery, the mother is weak and is in a lot of pain. With that, it becomes difficult for her to breastfeed her newborn no matter how much she wants to. Thus, in some cases, the child needs to be fed by other methods.
