Is your toddler the fussy kind? Try out these recipes for making healthy food for toddlers that are filled with the right nutrients and are very tasty. These 5 recipes are super easy to cook and won’t take you much time at all.
1 cup gram flour
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup green moong sprouts
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp garam masala
A pinch of asafoetida (Heeng)
Salt to taste
In a bowl, take the gram flour and the green sprouts.
Add all the masala into a bowl except the salt. Mix well, making a nice batter using the buttermilk.
Keep aside for 10 minutes.
When ready to make the dosas, add in the salt and mix.
Heat a pan and pour in a little ghee.
Once the pan is hot, pour in a spoonful of the batter and let it cook on both sides.
When it turns brown, remove from the pan and serve hot.
1/4 cup oats
1 tsp powdered pistachio or almonds
1 cup milk
1 tbsp raisins
1/2 tsp honey or sugar
In a saucepan pour 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of oats, 1 tsp powdered pistachio and 1 tbsp raisins.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce to low heat and cook for 5 minutes.
Pour into a bowl and let it cool down a bit.
Add 1/2 tsp of honey and serve warm.
1 cup sooji/rava
1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup curd
1 carrot grated
1/2 capsicum finely chopped
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
Ghee
Mix all the ingredients leaving out the salt at this time.
Take a little water and heat it in the idli steamer.
Now, grease the idli mould with ghee.
Pour 1 tbsp of batter into each of the moulds (do not overfill the moulds, leave space for it to rise)
Make it attractive by using peas for eyes, a piece of carrot for the nose and a piece of tomato for the lips.
Now, steam the smiley idlis for about 10 minutes or till done.
2 carrots peeled and grated
1 cup rice washed and soaked well
3/4 cup sugar or jaggery
1/2 inch piece of cinnamon
1 tbsp ghee
2 cups water
Heat ghee in a pan and add cinnamon.
Add grated carrot and cook till done.
Now, add in the water and let it come to a boil.
Once done, add in the rice, cover and let it cook.
When the rice is half done, add sugar.
Once completely done, remove from heat and serve.
Whole wheat flour
1/2 chopped onion
2 tbsp besan
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tsp garam masala
4 tsp oil
Ghee
Mix all the ingredients well leaving out the oil and ghee.
Knead the dough of the besan mixture with oil (do not add any water).
Roll out small portions of the whole wheat dough into a chapati.
Now, add the besan dough as filling.
Make a paratha and cook on the pan with ghee.
Serve hot with butter.
