It is that time in your life when you have just got into a new phase, a phase that is irreplaceable and beautiful for every woman. Motherhood does do a lot to you personally. From how it changes you as a person to the impact it has on your body. During the time of pregnancy, you get compliments for your glowing skin and great hair but things change after your delivery. If worked well, some smart styling can make you look slimmer without much ado.

1. Track pants and a tee shirt

There are days when you have too much to do and are left with little or no time to pick your outfit of the day. But here is a cheat-code to this: a pair of well-fitted cotton track pants with a plain tee shirt or even a top and a sweatshirt can score you a cool quotient.

2. Leggings, a long tee, and a shrug

Well, a pair of leggings can be a dicey piece of clothing when you want to look thinner. They can either highlight your lower body and make you look bigger or totally trick its way to making you look slimmer. What works is a dark pair of leggings, with a cool tee shirt or a ganjee. Just try on a solid coloured shrug and you are good to go. Roll up the sleeves and accessorize with a long chain.

3. A midi dress

You shouldn’t shy away from wearing dresses post your pregnancy. You can definitely use it to your advantage and wear a length that flatters your body instead. A midi dress could work well for you if you go for a black dress or a dress with intricate prints. Avoid a pattern which is A-line, and opt for something which is straight in cuts. It would be great if you could get something with pockets and use a belt at the waist.

4. A long kurta and straight pants

If you love your kurtas and are comfortable in ethnic-wear instead a long kurta can be your perfect pick. Go for a straight cut, with buttons, all the way to the bottom. And if you’d prefer, go for a length just above your ankles. Wear this with straight cotton pants and you will be comfortable enough to take on the day.

5. A shin-length skirt

You may not be too comfortable wearing a short skirt at this point but you can definitely add some style to your wardrobe without the ‘mini’ outfits too. A skirt with a length below your knees is comfortable and perfect for more than one occasion. You can wear it when you are out for work or for a meal with friends and family or even during a casual day. You can team it up with a cotton shirt, a plain pastel tee shirt or a cute printed top.
