Change is inevitable, but who is going to explain this to a toddler that does not want to shift. Relocating can be emotional and stressful, the burden of packing your household and the uncertainty of the safety of your goods are given burdens.

The possibility of a breakdown among the hustle and bustle of packing and moving is inevitable. Take your time to soothe yourself or your toddler before you continue with the pending work. Settling in a new place and making new friends can be difficult for your child as much as it is for you. Try to break the news to your child well in advance, as this helps your child cope with reality.

Keep a lookout for the following side effects of relocating, while taking adequate precaution.

1. Change in climate

Relocating can involve drastic changes in weather, either conditions of extreme heat or cold. A change in weather comes with the side effect of drastic changes in skin texture for better or worse. Take care of your child’s especially sensitive skin.

2. Water

It is proven that the water in different cities varies. While some cities do not have to use too many chemicals to purify their water, others do. This change in water can cause a dramatic change in the texture and quality of your child’s hair. Use hair products that are mild to offshoot the ill effects of these chemicals.

3. Making friends

School can be brutal on your child in the first few weeks. Making friends is a tedious task for everybody, so you should already know that it will be hard for your child. Encourage him/her to make friends, starting with your neighbor’s kids. This is the moment when your efforts of raising an optimist will come in handy.

4. Breakdowns

Your child might experience a breakdown in the first few weeks of relocating. Do not disregard this meltdown, and console them with a stroll in the park or an ice-cream. Since your child is unable to cope with the new changes in their life, it might be harder for them to understand what is happening in their lives. A meltdown is the only sign of repelling change.

5. New neighbor!

Being the newbie in the locality can attract innumerable guests and house invites. Endless introductions to neighbors and their friends can be tiresome for you and your child. Take time to find your spot and soothe yourself before you do the same with your child.

This is a huge moment in your life as well, and neglecting or suppressing feelings can come out in the form of repressed rage towards people around you. Therefore, in the process of consoling your child, do not forget to take some time out for yourself.
